Paint the Town Red’ for heart health Thursday in Flora
Perfective Web Designs / 0 Comments /Flora’s merchants will roll out the red carpet for the third annual “Paint the Town Red” on Thurs., Feb. 26 from 5-8 p.m. The event is designed to bring awareness to heart health month and show appreciation for the community. Women circulate through Flora learning about heart health while having fun.
The purpose of the Flora Main Street event is to raise awareness for heart health. Heart disease is the number one cause of death for women, according to the American Heart Association. Flora Family Medicine and Carroll County Health Clinic will be offering free health screenings, along with health information.
Luminaries are available for $10 with proceeds benefiting the American Heart Association. They may be purchased as most downtown businesses. The luminaries will line the fronts of participating merchants and can be inscribed with as many names as desired. Afterwards the luminaries may be kept as a keepsake.
Offered at no cost are limousine rides, a style show, photo booth, ring cleaning, and most importantly, health screenings.
Some sponsors will be offering free gifts while supplies last. Find heart health tips in each store and the first person with all the correct answers wins a $50 Shop Flora First gift certificate.
Participating merchants are Sisson’s Jewelry, Eikenberry Fine Furniture, Fringe Hair & Nail Salon, Mann Chevrolet, Ayres Hardware, Norris Insurance, Yoder’s Stitching Line, The Butterfly, Jeffrey’s Restaurant, The Grapevine Boutique, The Flower Shoppe, and Genda Funeral Home.
To help promote Heart Health, ladies are asked to wear their favorite red accessory to the event.
