Members of local law enforcement agencies travel to Washington DC

Law enforcement officers from the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, the Flora Police Department, and the Delphi Police Department joined over thirty-five thousand other peace officers from around the nation and the world in Washington DC from May 12, 2023 thru May 16, 2023 to take part in the 35th Annual Candlelight Vigil located at the National Mall and the 42nd Annual National Peace Officers Memorial Service held on the northwest lawn of the United States Capitol. These ceremonies were held to honor the 443 law enforcement officers who perished in the Line of Duty in 2022, and their families.

Officers accompanied Fallen Deputy Noah Rainey’s spouse, Maria, and their two children Easton and Nicholas, along with other family members, and families of other fallen officers from around the nation to these honoring ceremonies. On behalf of the officers attending, it was truly an honor for us to pay our respects to our fallen brother and his family. With that being said, this trip would not have been possible without the gracious support and donations from many individuals and businesses.

We would like to personally thank the following donors for their support; FOP Lodge 123, Wise Farms, Jeff Montgomery Trucking, Tempest Homes, Delphi Volunteers, Flora Fire Department, Collisions Unlimited, DCD Inc, Miller-Roscka Funeral Home, Draper Farms, Anna Brown, Pamela Miller, Marty &Julie Catron, Benjamin Pickens, Anthony & Wanda Giancola, Christian Women of Action, and Diane Kelly. We would also like to thank those donors who wished to remain anonymous and those that purchased memorial tee shirts.
