Flora is home to the Carroll Consolidated School Corporation which serves the eastern part of the county.
Flora has a well-appointed and busy community park which includes the 4-H Fairgrounds, ball fields, playgrounds, and numerous buildings.
The Carroll County Community Center is located at the East edge of town.
Flora is the home to numerous businesses and restaurants, churches, senior housing, and a community center. On Fathers Day weekend, it is host to the annual Hog-Jog foot races and the Idlers Cruise-In car show in the park. In the fall Flora hosts Moonlight Madness.
The Flora-Monroe Twp. Public Library provides numerous services, and the airport is located west of town. The Community Club, Rotary, Lions, and other groups provide many public services for the community.
